A true neighborhood gem, this restaurant serves a mix of Executive Chef Sergio Rivera’s Japanese, Chinese, and Southeast Asian specialties, as well as a menu of carefully-crafted cocktails, wine, sake, and beer.
And to play along with “New Year, new me” mantra, Tanuki has unveiled new dining experiences and menu items just in time for 2019. Craving something new during the first month of the new year? Read below to find out everything Tanuki is bringing to the table in 2019literally.
A Boozy “Sunday Brunch Feast”
Starting this Sunday, January 6, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tanuki will host a weekly Sunday Brunch Feast! For $58 per person, this brunch will begin with a signature “welcome” cocktail, and move on to a full brunch with unlimited mimosas and wine. Included in the price, guests will get to nosh on a sensational selection of Pan-Asian dishes served family-style, choose a main meal of their own, and indulge in a dessert of the chef’s choosing for the table. An array of Tanuki’s signature Dim Sum items will also be available as an add-on, and guests can make it a Champagne brunch for an additional $25. No matter what you choose to eat and drink, a live DJ will be there to keep the party going!
An Express Lunch
Want Tanuki for lunch? Now you can get it! From Wednesday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tanuki will offer a three-course Express Lunch for just $23. Every guest is guaranteed their meal in less than 45 minutes, which will start with Miso Soup or a salad, one of five entrées (Beef & Broccolini Stir Fry or Cashew Chicken, anyone?) with Vegetable Fried Rice, and Assorted Mochi ice cream for dessert. For an extra $5, guests can also upgrade their dessert option to a chocolate or matcha cake.
It’s First-Ever Omakase Menu
Miami Beach’s trendy Pan-Asian restaurant will now offer an “omakase” dinner! “Omakase” is Japanese for “chef’s whim, and is known as an ideal way for Japanese food lovers to get a real taste of what a chef can do. Staying true to form, the nine-course menu (priced at just $58 per person) will constantly change based on what’s seasonal, what’s available, and most importantly, what the chef wants to make that day.
A Bevy of New Dishes
New Year means a new menu; and Tanuki has one you’re sure to crave. In the appetizer section, find Char Siu Pork Ribs garnished with pickled Fresno peppers, and Tanuki Toast with spicy tuna and wasabi furikake. There are three new salads: a sautéed Choi Sum Chinese Spinach salad garnished with crispy garlic slices, Wasabi-Crusted Tuna Tartare with mixed greens and spicy sesame dressing, and the Crab Salad with baby arugula, cucumbers, and umami-laden XO aioli. The most additions can be found on the entrée menu, which now includes the vegetarian Mushroom Hot Pot with truffle butter, Barramundi Hong Kong Style, flash-fried whole Snapper Kara-Age glazed with XO sauce, and a 12-Ounce Ribeye with soy-glazed onions, broccolini, and a flavorful black-pepper sauce.
Tanuki is open for lunch Wednesday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is open for dinner Sunday through Thursday, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.; and on Saturdays and Sundays, from 5 p.m. to Midnight. Happy Hour is offered seven days a week, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
