Like any Italian mother knows, a lot of love goes into making the perfect lasagna. Traditionally a dish served only on occasions like Christmas, Italian weddings, birth announcements and Easter—and made by layering delicate strips of egg pasta, sauces, and fillings—a real lasagna takes hours. And like anything that takes certain degrees of merit and skill, we think it should be celebrated. This Sunday, July 29, we can: It’s National Lasagna Day.
