Miami Spice may have ended, but in this edition of “This Week in Eats,” we have four great reasons why there’s no need to miss it. Checkout some of our favorite restaurants, listed below, that are making up for Miami Spice with special prix-fixe menus.
db Bistro Moderne: Burger & Bordeaux is back at db Bistro Moderne {255 Biscayne Boulevard Way, Miami; 305.421.8800}! For the entire month of October, diners are invited to indulge in the Original db Burger, the Miami winner of Zagat’s “Best Burgers in the USA,” along with an appetizer, dessert and a glass of Bordeaux for only $39. While there’s plenty to get excited about at a Daniel Boulud restaurant, this burger is worth the deal alone. Paired with Pommes Frites and a glass of 2010 Château de Ricaud, Bordeaux Superieur, Cadillac-Côtes de Bordeaux, its a ground sirloin burger stuffed with red wine-braised off-the-bone short ribs and foie gras, topped with fresh horseradish and oven-roasted tomato confit, and served on a homemade toasted Parmesan and poppy seed bun.
Dolce Italian: Miami’s finest foodies have two more reasons to visit Dolce Italian {1690 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach; 786.975.2550}: “Mangia Mondays” and “Wine Down Wednesdays.” Starting this week, fans of the Italian hotspot can head to the restaurant every Monday and get a plate of Dolce Italian’s signature, authentic pasta for just $10. As if that weren’t enough, they can then return on Wednesday, every Wednesday, pick their favorite wine sold by the glass, and get the whole bottle for 50% off.
Juvia Miami: Throughout the month of October, Miami’s best rooftop restaurant, Juvia Miami {1111 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach; 305.763.8272}, is offering a prix-fixe menu that includes an appetizer, an entrée, a dessert and a glass of champagne or wine for just $45. Choose from appetizers like Kale and Farro Salad or Shrimp Anticucho, entrées like Roasted Organic Baby Chicken and Grilled Hanger Steak, and of course, dessert. Maybe an Almond Fig Tart, perhaps?
Driftwood Room at Nautilus: Now through November 19, guests can enjoy lunch and dinner at Driftwood Room at Nautilus {1825 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach; 305.503.5700} for the same price as Miami Spice. For $23, enjoy a three-course lunch of favorites like the Mediterranean Dip Duo, Compressed Watermelon Salad, Local Fish Tacos with ruby grapefruit slaw, Pumpkin Brûlée Tart, and more. For dinner, which costs just $39 for three courses, indulge in dishes like Octopus Carpaccio, Spinach Linguine & Grilled Lamb Sausage, Papas Bravas, Charred Broccolini, Pan Seared Local Snapper, or a Chocolate Tart, to name a few.
Happy dining!
