Chez Bon Bon - Donuts
It’s National Donut Day! Celebrate with a one-of-a-kind doughnut from some of our favorite Miami mainstays.
Chez Bon Bon: The only type of bakery that could exist in the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, Chez Bon Bon {4441 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach; 305.674.4740} is the brainchild of renowned Chef Jordi Panisello. With a trained staff of haute chocolatiers, this imaginative pastry shop invites sweets-lovers to nosh on everything from carefully crafted coffees, chocolates, cookies, and cakes, to gelato, salads, sandwiches, and especially today, chocolate or cinnamon sugar doughnuts.
PAUL: Sitting on Lincoln Road, the French bakery franchise, PAUL {450 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach; 305.531.1200}, has been family owned and operated since 1889. A perfect spot for your morning latte, a traditional French baguette sandwich, or treats like meringues, tartlets, and—you guessed it!—doughnuts, PAUL promises a little taste of Paris for “tout le monde.”
Market at EDITION: The brainchild of none other than Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Market at EDITION {2901 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach; 786.257.4600} brings a distinct European flair in the form of a 21st-century Mediterranean food bazaar—part patisserie, part boulangerie, and part salumeria – all right in the lobby of The Miami Beach EDITION. Go there today for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or an afternoon snack, and head straight to the pastry counter. You’ll find delectable miniature doughnuts for just $1.50 each.
ella: A Michael Schwartz sensation, and one named after his own daughter, ella {140 NE 39th Street, Design District; 786.534.8177} is where you go in the Design District for casual drinks and bites. Nestled in chic Palm Court, this light and airy café is open for breakfast, lunch, and an early dinner. The real treat, though, are its doughnuts—it comes up with new gourmet flavors each and every day, including top favorites like: chocolate Oreo with a white chocolate drizzle; honey glaze, almond and crunch balls; cookies and cream; lemon and coconut; and today’s special, vanilla glaze with brown butter streusel.
The Salty Donut: Of course, you can’t celebrate National Donut Day without Miami’s hottest (and first!) artisanal doughnut shop, The Salty Donut {29 NW 24th Street, Wynwood; 305.925.8126}. In honor of the day, this tasty locale is throwing a celebration like no other—complete with National Donut Day t-shirts from LYFE Brand, doughnut and drink pairings from The Salty Donut, food and drinks from Miami Smokers and J. Wakefield Brewery, a pop-up of The Anderson Bar, and the cherry on top: a never-before-seen National Donut Day doughnut from The Salty Donut, for event-goers only. Taking place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. TONIGHT, right next door to J. Wakefield Brewery,
this event was sold-out before it even began. Thankfully, the afterparty at The Anderson Bar, in MiMo, is free and open to the public.
