Breakfast is the most important meal of the day—and when you’re in the Magic City, you should wake up and have the best one yet. Here are our four favorite places to grab breakfast in Miami. The best part? They serve breakfast every day of the week.
Artisan Kitchen & Bar
Where: Key Biscayne
Grab a seat at one of the long wooden tables, and within minutes, this eclectic spot will have you feeling right at home. Choose from bites like Tequenos, Crispy Arepas, and Mini Empanadas, or munch on quiches like Bacon, Corn, and Goat Cheese, Quiche Lorraine, or Ham and Gouda Cheese. For a main, go light with Artisan Yogurt with artisan granola, or fully indulge with a menu of 18 arepas like the Spanish Arepa with Manchego cheese and serrano ham. Whatever you eat, at Artisan Kitchen & Bar, you’ll feel like you’re eating at home with friends.
Artisan Beach House

This upscale New American haunt overlooks the water at The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour {10295 Collins Avenue, Bal Harbour; 305.455.5400} and serves seafood-centric dishes, fine steaks, and craft cocktails in a refined “beachy” atmosphere. If you’re there from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. any day of the week, try some of its breakfast favorites: like the Nutella French Toast with caramelized banana, the Breakfast Panini with eggs, ham, Swiss cheese, and roasted potatoes on Cuban Bread, or even a Green Power smoothie with cucumber, green apple, kale, romaine, spinach, parsley, celery, and lemon. If you’re feeling fancy, pair it with a Michelada or a Mimosayou are in Bal Harbour, after all.

Kale Salad with Lemon, Serrano Chilies, and Mint from Market at EDITION

serves four
Ingredients
4 Tbsp fresh juice
1 Tbsp zest from 2 to 3 lemons
1 Tbsp red wine vinegar
1 small clove garlic, minced (about 1/2 tsp)
1 anchovy fillet, finely chopped
1 Tbsp dijon mustard
1 egg yolk
1/4 tsp red chili flakes
2 oz Parmigiano Reggiano, grated on a microplane grater (about 2 c)
3/4 c neutral oil, like safflower or canola
1/2 c plus 2 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
Kosher salt and freshly-ground black pepper
2 c finely-cubed sourdough bread
12 oz kale leaves, large stems removed, sliced into thin ribbons
1/2 c fresh mint leaves, sliced into thin ribbons
1 serrano chili, thinly sliced
Method
Combine lemon juice and zest, vinegar, garlic, anchovy, mustard, egg yolk, chili flakes, and cheese in a food processor. Process until homogenous, about 10 seconds. With the processor running, slowly drizzle neutral oil through feed tube, stopping the processor to scrape down the sides as necessary, until a smooth emulsion is formed, about 20 seconds. Transfer to a medium bowl. Whisk constantly, slowly drizzling in 1/2 cup olive oil. Season dressing to taste with salt and pepper. Refrigerate until ready to use.
Heat the remaining two tablespoons olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat, until shimmering. Add bread cubes and cook, tossing and stirring constantly for about three minutes, until golden brown and crisp. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and season with salt and pepper.
To serve: Combine kale and mint in a large bowl with about 1/2 cup dressing (plus more or less, as desired). Toss to coat well and let it sit around three minutes. Transfer to a large serving bowl and top with croutons and sliced chilies. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

Try it at The Bar at The Setai, and when you love it, come home and make it for yourself. Lucky for you, we’ve got the recipe, below!

In a shaker, mix 1.5 ounces Jameson, 1/2 ounce Disaronno, 1/2 ounce fresh-squeezed lemon juice, 1/2 ounce simple syrup, and one egg white. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with red, green, and white sugar, all arranged to look like an Irish flag.

Matador Bar
When it comes to hospitality, the talented team at Matador Bar at the Miami Beach EDITION {2901 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach; 786.257.4600} knows one thing for sure: Everyone loves pizza. And taking that fact to heart, they’re once again hosting their monthly pizza and cocktail party, Pineapples & Pizza, on Thursday March 15.
Like it does every month, the third installment of this event in 2018 will combine one, rotating off-menu pizza with a boozy Pineapple-inspired cocktail for a savory night your taste buds won’t forget. Admission is free, and guests are always invited to bring a friend, share a pizza, and sip a cocktail (or five) as they jam out to whatever live band is playing that night. On March 15, the special pizza will be Kale Pizza topped with Spicy Sausage, the cocktail will be Absolut Elyx Pineapple, and the live music will be provided by South Florida native and alt-sounds guru, Brika, who will rock out the house from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. that night.
